Marching into April 2018 – Development update

Hello everyone! 

With our recently released release road map, we have been excited to keep you up to date on our progress and timeline toward the day the game is released to the public. Today’s update will discuss the work we’ve completed in March and what we are moving onto for the month April. 

As you can see, the month of March was heavy in the AI department. We spent all of this time working to fine tune and polish the very intricate details of the different AI systems. A lot of the work that we have already completed in 2016/2017 required extensive testing that pretty much filled the 2017 calendar. We are very happy to be in a much better place from a simulation standpoint. 

As you can see in the schedule, we placed a lot of attention on the AI company management and evaluation cycle. Instead of creating AI that is just designed to create the allusion of competition, we have aimed to create an AI system that is both believable in their actions and reactions to both player and other AI decision making. This is the reason it has taken us some time to fully realize the system itself and then implement, iterate and start to fine tune the system.

The great news is that for our first month with the new road map published, it has been a resounding success. Not only have we completed all of our task for the month of March, but we have also started April’s work within the last few days of March. Now, the expectation was that we would indeed be able to reach the milestones that we set in the roadmap, however it is always a great feeling once you actually achieve that goal. 

Moving into April, we are fine-tuning what may be considered some of the most intriguing tasks. The central aspect of this game is the indeed the products that you will create that will fuel your rise to the top. for each of these products, we are going through a few passes to refine, iterate and polish both the concepts and implementations of these products. How they are interwoven together is a central aspect and feature of our game. I won’t dive into all of the details here, but it is safe to say, that your decisions on one product will both influence and be influenced by others.

So, these next few months will produce the final gameplay and feature set implementations of each of these products.
